The moon shone bright and full, illuminating the clear dark skies, outshining the starts surrounding it. The full, soft light that the moon gave off was the only light that covered the mountain, flooding every nook and cranny that it could touch. Cold, strong winds whipped up dangerously and would be so to those not use them. In the long hours of the night Hoshimi trained under the stars that she was renamed after. During these times most if not all of the members of the Shikyo clan were asleep or at the very least patrolling the caves and mountain itself, watching over the land that they have claimed as home. Hoshimi on the other hand could not sleep, and she was unable to patrol, so the young Shikyo did what she felt was best.
" Hyaa! Hyaa! "
A tiny voice broke out against the crisp air, breaking the silence that was settled into the area. Small fists broke small chinks of rock from the craggy sides of the mountain, soft thuds echoed in her ears as her fist connected to hard rock. Hoshimi began to flinch at each punch but did not falter as she continued on. Being under lord Kurokon had made the young girl feel unworthy to be in his presence as of late. Since being rescued by her savior, Hoshimi had gotten to comfortable around him and showed little sign in regard to paying him back with her life. " Hyaa! Hyaa! " The little voice with much determination went on as her foot connected to where her fist once hit. Those in the village had welcomed her and she didn't look to far off from those who were born into the Shikyo clan. She could easily be mistaken for a blood relative with her snow white hair bouncing youthfully from her tiny little head. Though she knew she was apart of the clan she couldn't help but feel beneath them because she was not born into the clan. Her abilities though quite amazing was nothing like she saw those of the clan. As she kept up perfecting her punches and kicks sweat began to form mixing with salty tears that had seem to break down from her eyes. She wished to be stronger, to live a peaceful life, but in a world like this peace didn't exsit and as long as she lived she would have to fight, no matter how scared of the world she was.
Her tiny hands and feet kept going, she had been going for hours, her pale skin turning black and blue around her hands and her feet swelling in her boots. The wind kicked up around her, the coal colored scarfed wrapped around her little face billowed in the wind.

Goon was bored, he was suppose to be going over everyone's medical records, or at least what he had on them. But he had been over them countless times, and they were sort of out of date. He could recite them all, like it was nothing, it also didn't help that some of the members had left and didn't return. He wrote a note to himself to hold a physical exam at a later date to update the medical records. Goon didn't realize how late it was, and needed to go outside for some air, anyways. The only people around were a few guards patrolling the halls, and the insomniacs.

Outside was nice the air was cool, with a slight breeze, and the sky was lit up. It seemed like a perfect night for a walk to clear his head. He walked for awhile around the mountain, that is until he heard a bunch of little grunts. He wondered who it was, could it have been a random, or one of the members. Thoughts ran through his head, so he did what he did best, sneak up on the person. As he walked quietly up he saw little Hoshimi, punching the mountain chipping it little by little. For someone so small and young, she was doing more than most kids her age. Goon smiled watching her from a few meters away, he was reminded of when he was that age and felt he needed to get stronger, that's part of the reason he became the man that he is.

But seeing her hurt herself was not the right way to do it, she doing more damage to herself than she was gaining strength. He felt it was time to interrupt her little session, "Hey! Does anyone know you're out here?" his word probably startled her and they rang through the mountains. "And what in the blue blazes are you doing?"

"Hey! Does anyone know you're out here?" The voice rang out clearly, bouncing off the walls of the mountains and startling Hoshimi very badly, throwing off her form causing her to twist her wrist upon her next punch upon the wall. Letting out a sharp cry she quickly positioned her hand into a handsign before turning to be met by Goon. Her heart was beating furiously in her tiny chest, threatening to burst, the adrenalin rushing in her blood made time slow before her eyes. " G-goon-Sama? " She couldn't say much really and only shook her head in response. The sudden rush of adrenalin killed the pain in her wrist as she held the handsign while her hand shook nervously.

"And what in the blue blazes are you doing?"
She felt like she was being scolded. Obviously she was out after hours with no one knowing where she was so there really shouldn't have been much of a surprise. " Im just training to be strong like lord  Kurokon. " She felt her eyes well up and sting with the threat of tears glossing over her glowy red eyes as the pain poured into her wrist and her heart settled. She didn't want to stop training and she had already thought that he would make her go back to the home in which she stayed with Kurokon.

Her voice was muffled against the dark scarf that was wrapped around the bottom half of her face when she spoke. She thought of running to another location to finish her training but shook it off knowing she would get caught. Turning fully to face Goon Hoshimi waited for his response to her own, already thinking that her training would be done for the night.

Goon knew he had scared her, and what didn't really surprise him is that she was ready to attack. Which to him was a good thing, because even though they were close to home, that didn't mean that it was always going to be one of the family, popping up. Watching he saw that she hurt his wrist, good thing he had always kept bandages on him, he'd use mystical but he didn't have enough chakra at the time to sustain it, so for the time being he had to resort to the old way of healing. The little girl looked scared, good thing Goon was bored, he had nothing to do. He figured he'd help her out with her training.

"Here let me see that wrist," he said, whether she gave it to him or not he'd still grab it and begin wrapping it up. "So you wanna get stronger. hmmm. I think I can help you with that. Goon said, if he remembered correctly this was close to one of the spots, he trained at when he first got here, only thing is, that it's up the mountain. Those without the proper training and skill, wouldn't be able to make it up, it usually leads to quick for this is one of the steepest parts of the mountain as well. But if someone where to make it up far enough close to the tip they'd make it a flat area that's secluded and perfect for training. Only a few members ever try, for failing to make it could lead to serious injury, or possibly death. The wrapping was finished and was time to get the training started.

"But first you gotta make your way up the mountain, seems like nothing right. NOPE! it's actually very dangerous, and only a few ever make the trip, and complete it. That's the stipulation for me helping you out. Now do you agree you'll figure out where to stop at I'll meet you up there, if you truly wanna get stronger." With that said Goon made his journey up he didn't go completely up to the area to keep an eye Hoshimi, last thing he wanted was for her to get hurt, or for Kuro to get pissed at him. So he stayed far off to the side as he made his way, where he couldn't seen, but he himself could see everything clearly. He wondered if the little girl would actually make the journey up it, it is pretty long, close to the peak.

She was prepared to go back home but it seemed that Goon had other plans as he took her wrist into his hands and bandaged it up. Moving her wrist around she found that the pain had subsided and though it began to swell a bit she would be fine. "So you wanna get stronger. hmmm. I think I can help you with that" Her eyes lit up, well more so than it already was from it's natural glow. She knew training alone could only get so far but to be offered a chance to train with Goon was something she wouldn't say no too. Her eagerness made her forget all about her injury and she nodded her head, the snow white locks bouncing youthful in the light of the moon.  "But first you gotta make your way up the mountain, seems like nothing right. NOPE! it's actually very dangerous, and only a few ever make the trip, and complete it. That's the stipulation for me helping you out. Now do you agree you'll figure out where to stop at I'll meet you up there, if you truly wanna get stronger." Of course there was a catch, nothing ever came easy and that was fine by her. The little challenge sprung on Hoshimi only made her more excited and she found herself stretching and doing a bit of deep breathing. The mountain side he spoke of was indeed steep and with the winds as they were at this height it would be almost impossible...Almost.

" I can do it! " her little voice muffled through the dark scarf as she began to focus chakra to her feet, she took one deep breath before grabbing onto the rocky wall and moving upwards. The blue chakra coating her feet was only training wheels until she got up and off the ground and she would take them off as soon as she was far enough away from the ground she once stood on, and only use it in case she would fall. It really was hard to climb up such a steep slope but it was harder to fail in the face of an accepted challenge. With her hand as it was this was all the more difficult but she bit past it, she bit past the pain, the doubt, the worry in the face of the impossible, those things were all obstacles and if she didn't overcome she would never become any better. The brisk wind bit at her face as she got closer to the peak, a few points she slid down and once she almost fell back completely. For one so young she had a very good grasp of chakra and even a better control over it. Her knowledge on chakra held her apply it to the actual use of it and she was constantly praised on how good she was when it came to chakra control. The climb seemed to go on forever and she could feel herself growing weaker with each time that she had to save herself from certain death. At this height there was no going back and she had to bite through the fatigue in order to surpass the limitations and expectations.

Who knows how long it had been anymore her tiny hands pulling up her body, still damaged from the " training " she put herself through. The pain was no longer a bother but a reminder that she was still conscious, still able to go on. The air thin around her and her head was light and her vision fuzzy. She didn't have anymore chakra she could afford to waste, and if she used another boost to save herself she would already be dead. She didn't realize it as her hand missed the flat surface of her next grab that she had completed the challenge...well almost. Her mind gave out as her endurance ran on empty along with a few elemental factors. She couldn't speak as she felt herself move in slow motion her hand missing the ledge that she so desperately tried to grab, but then again she was just a child, and some things were just too big for someone as small as her to accomplish.

Goon had to give it to the girl, she was really trying, and she definitely had the heart. She made it further than most first timers, and definitely further than most of the members ever did. Goon had to admire her chakra control, and the fact that she only used it when she really needed to, such as a chance to fall. He was watching her every move, when he went up, he his off to the side, and waited for him to pass her, she wouldn't truly be able to see him. When Hoshimi passed him, he slowly followed behind her, so in case anything were to happen to cause her to fall to her death, or serious injury. That and the fact that Kuro, A: probably let not let him hear the end, or B: Kill him, taking a life for a life, especially of someone so young, and that he personally took care of.

Goon suspicions rang true, as Hoshimi was near completion, when exhaustion seemed to set in. She didn't pace herself, the only good thing is that she wouldn't develop the bends, because the clan itself was used to the high altitude. As she began to fall Goon would race up, taking three huge hops and catch her before she really started to fall. Making him carry her the final steps to the flat zone, and set her down so she could eventually wake up, and to let her body adjust to the altitude.

After about twenty minutes to a half hour, Goon would grab smelling salts from his pocket and wave it under her nose. Making her regain consciousness, "Well I got some good news and some bad, the Good news is that you passed the test, the bad news is..." Goon would take a dramatic pause only to mess with her. "Nothing." Goon chuckled, "Had you scared for a moment there, didn't I?"

She was a goner, not fit to be a ninja no matter what the obstacle, she should have been made of better stuff than that. She couldn't really recall the next event after the world around her got dark but for the next half and hour she would be dead to the world as far as she was concerned. Her mind was blank she didn't dream nor did she have nightmares. Her body wouldn't move, that was until she smelled something very distinct... Wait smelled? Her eyes fluttered open as she shot up quickly, pain shooting throughout her little body causing her to fall back. Though she was rested her body was sore as all hell. "Well I got some good news and some bad, the Good news is that you passed the test, the bad news is..." The voice that she heard she knew it was Goon's and looked over to him as she stayed on the ground. ."Nothing, Had you scared for a moment there, didn't I?" His words warmed her spirit and made her smile, tears forming and rolling down her smooth, porcelain cheeks. " I'm happy...But I didn't make it Goon-San. I failed where I could have succeeded, I'm nothing more than a failure. I don't deserve your teachings until I can make it fully up and stand on my own two feet....Don't you agree? " Turning her head to look at him, she took deep breaths to fight past the soreness of her body so that she could sit up and then finally stand. Looking directly into Goon's eyes, her crimson orbs pierced his own as she awaited the answer to her question. Being someone not born of the clan made it that much more difficult for Hoshimi to accept anything short of success. She was the outsider, brought in by the clan leader nonetheless, she had to show them no matter how young she was that she wasn't just some trash Lord Kurokon had picked up. The smile she wore faded and the tears flowed heavily from her eyes though she did not cry aloud, she couldn't stop the tears. She was tired of coming up short, she was tired of not being strong, and even though no one really expected much from her she didn't want to be a charity case. Before it was all said and done she would one day strike fear in the hearts of men and it started right here under the guidance of those who have seen battle and won against death.

Goon knew the feelings that the girl was expressing to him, a good percentage of the Shikyos knew even Goon did, still does every now and again. But he liked facts and complaining and self-pity was not gonna help her, maybe she didn't realize it, maybe she did. Goon had no way of knowing her inner thinking only what she expressed whether it was word or body language. After hearing Hoshimi speak and stare into his eyes, doe-like, he was gonna have to get stern. "Now stop with all that melancholy talk, and think." he paused, so he could take a breathe before spitting out what he was about to say.

"You are NOT the only person to ever feel like that, trust me you aren't, you have a whole group of people who have at one point most likely felt the same. Now you made your mission to get stronger, no matter the cost, you made it to the area, I wanted you to go, you touched it and just because you passed out from exhaustion doesn't make you weak it means your human. And even if you were weak no one here gives two shits about that, all we care about is you not your strength and weaknesses, we care about the person. you are and what it is you do to help, whether its little or in a huge way, your fine, so whether you believe you deserve to train or not its going to happen. Because nothing else matter other than what you want, self pity get you nowheres, but death." He said, maybe he was a little harsh, maybe he wasn't, but that didn't matter, what mattered was the words he spoke were the truth.

While he was speaking though he was tapping his foot, not out of impatience, or anger, orbegun annoyance, it was to prepare the earth, for the tai that was gonna be coming, shortly. One of the benefits of being a Shikyo, to him was the ability to control an element, with barely any chakra, it was used in conjunction with taijutsu. Goon was blessed with earth, it made up for his lack of jutsu, and chakra for the time being, which wasn't so bad, but he studied medical techniques anyways, he had to get more chakra somehow. When Hoshimi, spoke in reply to what he just said, he would slightly interrupt her, "Oh yeah by the way the training has begun, you better come at me with all you got. This first time is just an assessment." He said it with a smile, and to change the mood.

Goon took three hops back propelling him self back with his right foot as it touched the ground. With his style of manipulation, it could be used effectively from a distance as well as up close. With each hop he summoned up a piece of earth(75s), the size of a fist, kicking them with his left foot as he went backwards, he made sure to make it softer than usual, all the blocks of earth had a softer density(25). The first block would head towards her left shoulder, the second the right shoulder, and the last was kicked randomly towards her abdomen, the kicks all were slow at half Goon's speed, the earth he made move slowly, at a speed were Hoshimi could see them, and react to the them. "Think fast! Never been a real good teacher. Usually I just go with the flow. I always felt like you could learn better, through experiences." He chuckled.
