PostSubject: A Brothers bond (Reishin/Mayuri)   Mon Aug 11, 2014 8:18 pm

The night air was calming, and the moon remained elusive in the night sky while the clouds sheltered it, allowing it to play hide and seek with Mayuri's eyes. He always had an affinity for being out in the night, walking his villages boundaries and dreaming of expanding the Hyuuga's reach even further than what it was now. He walked the lush grass barefoot feeling the dew wet the bottoms, it was a refreshing feeling almost like it gave his life force new vigor.

It was times like these that he wished he could speak with his brother alone, and share his unfiltered thoughts and feelings without reprise or being shunned by his fellow clans men. Mayuri hopped atop a gate post the sectioned off their livestock from the fields and looked deep past the horizon, activating his byakugan to see even further, and he knew one day, all that his vision could see would one day be known as the Hyuuga's land. This was one of the few times he didn't mind using his clans eyes, he normally refused unless they were in the service of his brother. Anything else and it was considered lowly of him to do so. This however, this was the one thing he did for himself, he was a watcher, a observer of the world around him. He watched the night moth flutter from a multitude of meters away, it danced so perfectly in the air as if the wind carried it's own howling beat.

Mayuri smiled lightly, his lips partially lifting to the right side in a small crooked smile. His special eyes catching a glimpse of a owl sitting atop one of the great pines in forest, he watched the head turn almost a full 180 around and it seemed to stare right back at him, something he knew wasn't possible from this distance, but he liked to think that it was. Closing off the byakugan the veins slowly receded back down into his skin and he exhaled deeply. The young Hyuuga wondered if his power would be enough to help change the world, and also more directly if it would be of use to his older brother. He was called the little mountain, he constantly asked himself if he could honestly be that immovable object to protect his brother ambitions and stop all attacks that came against him, just as a great mountain would.

"I don't know if i'm capable of everything that's expected of me, I doubt my own abilities. It's so upsetting to hear how much is expected of me when I doubt that I can do even a fraction of what they hope."

He was voicing his concerns to the wind, the one thing that listened and didn't judge him. For a moment a tear streamed down his cheek and he quickly wiped it with his hidden hand in his kimono, showing weakness was not something he was prone to doing......

The night time sky and its comfy air made Reishin think back to the times of his father, mother and little brother sat outside and their grandfather explained that all things in life have balance and it was a balance that he would strive to hold throughout the clan. Those words had always kept Reishin in check as a guiding beacon of his late grandfather although he wish that the old man was still in the world of the living with him. The light of the moon may have been blocked, but it did not deter him from leaving the comfort of his room to go on a stroll through the village of the clan.

The many people of the clan that were still awake and hard at work would bow and welcome the young leader, a small smile and gentle nod would be given back to him as he continued on his walk wearing his training clothes from the prior hours that he had been working out. The hood of the jacket however was firmly placed onto his head as he continued to walk into the depths of their territory to simply get away from the stronghold for a bit. After a few moments of walking however he had found himself in the area in which the fields were, but in the sky covered night he would see his brother standing atop of the posts. Smiling he would walk closer to his brother and sit on the post adjacent from him and look up into the sky," Beautiful night isn't it Mayuri? Even if the clouds are covering the moon it is still a beautiful sight to see," from the sound in his voice he was actually happy, even if the weight of being a leader was heavy on him he knew the one person who could help him was only a few feet from him.

Upon hearing the calming voice come from his brother it caused Mayuri to be shaken back to reality, quickly turning his face to the opposite direction re rubbed his face once more witht he sleeve of his kimono to ensure there was no left over moisture from his brief moment of showing emotion. He sniffled lightly, playing on it as if it was just an awkward gasp for air, it was weak and he knew his brother would more than likely see through it.

"Ye..yes, I came out here to observe it and just bring myself down from the day. What about you brother, is something on your mind? You were full of energy this morning and it was nice to be able to play with you, even if there were other people there. You know how I am with our time, and I don't like sharing you with the villagers. I barely get to see you when you are here in the village due to your duties and the times that I do, it's always covered with procedures and proper outlets that I must follow."

Mayuri was young and while advanced for his age, he still suffered from the same jealousy's any younger brother would when it came to their bigger brother. He put a slight pout on his face and turned his head towards his brother with crossed arms over his chest.

The air gently pressed against Reishin's clothing as he continued to sit by his brother, listening to each word that he had said with a smile on his face as a brother should. At the question of what was on his mind, he would slowly turn his smile into a thinking expression," At first i was thinking of how to better benefit the clan, but after sparring with you all...it made me think that maybe all the clan needs from me right now is to be strong and uphold our traditions. After all if we have no sky to look up to where will our ambitions lead us little brother?," quite the philosophical one he glanced over to his brother who had expressed how he felt about spending time with him. The notion as a brother made him feel as if he was indeed neglecting the most important part of his life, but as a leader he had to divide his time to all of the clan because they were all family to him.

Standing up he would slowly wrap his arm around his brother and point to the sky with his free hand," Mayuri you are my one and only brother and i love you more than anything, but you understand that i also must care for all of our kin and our village ways. Eventually when you have a son or younger one you will see it as well," he would pause as he looked up to the sky," but like these stars in the sky you are the closest one to me. We will have a brother's only day soon Mayuri i promise. Then on that day we can train and do whatever you like alright?," although he was known to keep his promises, Reishin would make sure that his family was also kept together opposed to being forced apart.

The clouds had slowly began to give way to the moon's rays as Reishin slipped off of the post he was on and stretched slowly," So Mayuri how about a one on one with your older brother? Pretty sure you have gotten stronger and i want to teach you some things that will help in the future...if you are up for it," the competitive brother grin came on as he waited for his brother to form some sort of response.

His brother, as always was right in every word he said, Mayuri had shown his childish side and his brother had been there to level him out with logic. It was exactly what the boy needed and couldn't help but think, these were the moments that Reishin was fighting for. The moments where a sibling could confide in another about anything without fear of an attack from another clan or a bandit raid on a village. His brother was fighting to create a peaceful environment for them all, and he had to sacrifice things in order for that to pan out.

"You're right, I'm sorry for acting out for a moment, these are war times anyway, I can't expect to be babied the entire time, and I know you have your duties to us all."

His brother had made his way to him and wrapped him in his arm, getting close, using his free hand he pointed upwards and Mayuri's head followed his brothers arm til his hand stopped and it was pointed towards the sky. His brother spoke more universal truths into his ear and the young Hyuuga couldn't help but be taken in by the picture he was painting. Mayuri did indeed want to create a better world for the next generation as well and it would be up to his brother, himself, and all of the Hyuuga to ensure they did everything in their power to create the Utopia they deserved. "The Heavens" moved further away from the "Little Mountain" and offered the chance for their bonding time to come a little bit sooner in the form of a spar right now. This was a chance that Mayuri would jump at with clear excitement on his face, he would be able to hopefully learn just a little bit more about his brother fighting style, something he couldn't learn this morning.

Jumping down from the pole with a hop in his step, Mayuri took up his same fighting stance from earlier and waited for his brother to give the sign to begin.

Seeing his brother smile made him see that his ideals had been reaching the people of his clan and through this it made him want to continue to show his people the way. Once the two of the had taken their stances, Reishin would remember that earlier he had given his brother the go to attack first, but in this case he would attack him first. Smiling he would take his regular stance before giving his brother a single sentence," Its funny how we became two of the founding trigrams...you became the "Mountains" and i became the "Heavens"...but when you think on it...it makes sense as you are one of the pillars i always look to when i am going to fall," with those words he would remain silent and take a step forward.

As the wind slowly began to blow onto the plains, Reishin would begin to take small steps forward before meeting his brother a few meters or rather 2 meters.  From this point the spar would begin as his right hand openly extended towards Mayuri aiming for his chest. As always he would start the spar off with slow movements in order to build the suspense and challenge of the fight. Within the moment of the first attack, he would slide forward with his right shoulder slamming it into him as a simple move to push him back, however as he waited for his brother to attack or counter-attack.

At the moment of the counter however, Reishin would quickly push off of his left foot causing his body to shift to the right and around Mayuri, putting him behind him while executing a quick jump backwards. Gaining 3 meters of distance between him and his brother. This had given not only his brother a few moments to think but also to see how he would close in the distance between the two of them. With this new form came versatility due to the constant moving he could gain with his legs. Instead of standing still and waiting, his lower body was in a constant state of moving which gives him enough movement to dodge or move around his opponents. Taking away from his current thoughts he would continue to move slowly around Mayuri, looking for a good striking point to hit the immovable Mountain.

Mayuri kept his stance and watched his brothers movements, it was a pure excitement to watch his Leader take up a form the looked effortless but was only given to the one who could put his heart and soul into mastering it. The words his brother spoke however caught him off guard just as they always did when they were spoken with such affection that only a older sibling could have for their junior. Mayuri would respond in kind but keep his reply short, he didn't want to waste words speaking what they could understand from each others attacks.

"At first, I thought my name to be nothing but given to the youngest, but I truly want to help hold you where you belong, which is in the heavens."

The younger again focused only on his brothers movements as he stepped in closer and closer, it seemed as if he would intitate this round in stead of waiting on Mayuri to make the first move. What came first was a open palmed attack, this is where Mayuri's style that he was working on excelled. Much like his name, his style was based around being unmovable in any fighting situation by controling the zone he was in and manipulating the attacker into striking hap haphazardly. Of course this wouldn't work on someone as skilled as his brother but he had to try none the less. As his brothers hand came within reacting distance Mayuri's right hand would move from its position to intercept the palm.

His hand waited for the palm to pass by his right wrist and the moment it did the younger Hyuuga's hand moved inwards to strike the wrist bone of Reishin with his own wrist. This was done in a sweeping motion to push his brothers arm to the left ashe was following through with the elbow charge follow through. This was a movement done to throw off the balance of an on coming attacker using brute force, not necessarily something that would work on a Hyuuga's gentle fist. This would be the point in the attack where Mayuri would counter attack after parrying while the opponent was in a disadvantageous position by grabbing the wrist with his left hand and positioning his leg to where as the enemies forward momentum carried them, they would trip, further destabilizing themselves and showing their spinal cord to him allowing for a quick and effective finish.

However as he said before "The Heavens" wasn't what his technique and style was made for, it wasn't built to combat other hyuuga. Reishin was already pushing off his other foot and moving into Mayuri's blind spot. His brothers footwork was perfect and in the seconds it took Mayuri to turn on a pivot to view his brother, Reishin was already 3 meters or so away and moving again. Smiling Mayuri took after his brothers first movements and inched his bare feet closer to striking distance. As he came into his brothers zone Mayuri stepped off of his left foot pushing his body forward, his right arm was tucked close to his chest open palm, fingers firm and pointing towards Reishin. Mayuri launched his attack with strong accuracy aimed for his brothers solar plexus, this was a puncturing attack, normally used to go through the skin, but he knew his brother would find this childs play still and easily counter.

PostSubject: Re: A Brothers bond (Reishin/Mayuri)   Thu Aug 14, 2014 12:37 pm

Fighting his brother was one of the best things that Reishin could ask for at this moment, it was a time for the two of them to further their training and learn from each other. The attack that Mayuri had used to combat his first attempt at attacking him was a good move that had caught Reishin off guard, his hand had almost grabbed onto his wrist which would have stopped his movements dead cold when he had connected but with his next movement he avoided the processes from stopping him from gaining distance from Mayuri. Slowly he would continue to slowly walk around Mayuri, watching his eyes and movements for any indication of an attack, the two of them having separate forms for attacking which is what made this so much interesting than a regular hyuuga fighting.

As soon as his brother leapt into action, Reishin would follow suit, sliding forward with his left foot as the lead but his attack would be something different than his brothers. The fingers on his right hand would be become as straight as the razor’s edge making an open palm, but with his attack he wouldn’t be striking like his brother. Instead he would use the following formation of his hand to strike straight and stop his brother’s attack. The clash from the two brother’s attack would show a small grin from under the hood of the brother as his land went into a horizontal position. Swiftly and with great force he would strengthen and flex his fingers causing his brothers hand to forcefully shoot into the air, his arm soon following after which would throw him off of his balance…in theory.

With the following movements in place he would inch his left hand forward and press it against his brother’s chest softly, the small attack being nothing but a foreshadowing of the events to come. With his palm pressed against his chest he would send a blast of wind laced chakra through the tenketsu of his hand, forcing his brother back three meters. Reishin after the applications of his attacks would switch back into his stance and breathe slowly as he waited to see what his brother would do in these instances. These were attacks that were known only to him, swift and without power but high on efficiency to throw his opponents off guard. The style of the heavens was something Reishin held highly as his most powerful fighting style, but there was still more had even he had not tapped into just yet.

PostSubject: Re: A Brothers bond (Reishin/Mayuri)   Sat Aug 16, 2014 2:24 pm

(Sorry for the late post, very busy)

These are moments any clan member lives for, the chance to test their mettle against that of their superior. It always held true that you could never really get a true grasp of your strength till you fought someone stronger than you that had the ability to take the brunt of your attacks as mere child's play. Mayuri anticipated that this match up with his brother would do just that, it would allow him to see where he stood in the world and what he could do to elevate that standing. His deflection had flowed perfectly and had it been anyone other than his brother he would have been able to flow into the next attack and perform a unique combo. As he had suspected though, his brother was of course on a completely different level than his own.

The "Little Mountain" still had yet to grasp the essence in his own fighting style that would allow him to move and keep his stance, he had only come as far as being able to maintain his stance in one place and not move from it. This was something he was sure "The Heavens" caught on to after seeing it in action just once and it would explain as to his moving around, forcing the young Hyuuga to leave his comfort zone and initiate a counter strike.

This was the state of affairs now, Mayuri was closing distance and as he was doing such, he could swear he was watching his brother do the same as if he was looking into a mirror. Step for step and stance for stance everything about them in this point in time was the same down to the release of their attacks. The Hyuuga techniques were called gentle fists for a reason, it wasn't about expelling force to overcome your opponent but using subtlety and precision to garnish you the victory. Reishin was of course a master of this aspect and all branches of its combat. It caught Mayuri by surprise to see his attack negated by his brother applying equal gentle force.

"Wrong movement"

It was all Mayuri had time to think about before the next step took place. The smile on his brothers face indicated what was to come next. After Mayuri's arm was redirected by his brothers force, it wasn't enough to send him stumbling, but still enough to throw him off balance and give even more leverage to the opposing side. He had enough time to look down and feel his brothers touch upon his chest.

"Somethings wrong"

He knew his brothers power and he wouldn't hold back this much while attacking, had he over extended and not accounted for Mayuri's backwards momentum from the parry attack and his attack had come short? No, his brother didn't make mistakes there had to be something to this attack that he was missing. It happened fast, and it felt like a gale of wind was rushing over his small frame with every intent and purpose of carrying him away and it did. The only thing the young Hyuuga could do was go with the flow of the wind and wait for it to become less forceful, which would be further away from his brothers hand as the epicenter. After about two meters of distance had been gained, he couldn't tell exactly how far back he was due to his upper body being push back not affording it the luxury of bending forward. Mayuri continued to let the wind carry him up and over as he pressed of the ground with both feet as he felt himself coming to a slower speed, he pushed off into a back flip.

He had to make up lost ground fast and since he couldn't use his style, he would have to continue to assault his brother in an attempt to not allow him to gather himself. Once his backflip had ended it would put him on all fours, his legs spread apart slightly under his kimono bent at the knees slightly and his arms pressed into the ground, he looked like he was about to run the hundred meter dash. Once he had hit the ground and his composure was back, he pushed off the ground on his legs to come back towards his brother at his highest speed. If he made it back into his brothers distance without interruption he would begin his attack. The first of which was a downward knife hand chop with his right arm aimed to hit Reishins left collar bone. This however was a feint that would follow into the chop turning into a hold on his brothers shoulder as Mayuri carried his forward momentum to move himself behind his brothers left side wrapping his arm up. If these things went through he would kick in with his right leg at the back of his brothers left knee to knock him off balance hopefully giving Mayuri enough leveage for a standing arm bar.

First move. Second move. Final move, all of them each had a specific task and a specific reason for striking their areas, but none had any force which is what Reishin was aiming for in each of his strikes. His own style of the heavens held either the emptiness of the sky, gentle yet rough but then it can become as dangerous as the judgement of the heavens. The versitile style had many options in which Reishin could use to overcome many obstacles, but since he didn't create the style to combat other Hyuuga's it was less effective than he had originally wanted it to be. He would continue to watch his brother after the aforementioned attacks to see just how well he would deal with them, each one giving him a different angle in which to recover from, but then again the wind pulse would be the most diffcult thing if not done correctly.

After seeing his brother recover so flawlessly, Reishin wasted no time in returning into his stance and followed his brother in every move of his, from the time he started darting towards him until the moment he came within 5 meters of him. At that moment Reishin's arms would begin to tuck near his body and his legs slowly positioned themselves by putting the left foot two inches behind the right. From his own body he would push out his chakra in pulses, adding his own wind affinity into them and effectively putting up his "sensor", the new technique taking form as he seemingly stared at his brother. As Mayuri's hand came in for the downward knife chop, Reishin's own left hand would counter, thrusting upward and pushing off of the wrist of Mayuri sending his arm backward. Reishin's own left would would slide backwards as he took a deep breathe and use the extended left hand to grab onto the arm which was just repelled and hook into it, using the current force to hip toss Mayuri into the ground. With the following defensive attacks in motion, Reishin would turn around to face his brother, a small glow in his eyes as he smiled and waved for his brother to come at him again.

The current style that he was using was more suited for his brother for his defensive style, but the thought of teaching him this to help out in his own technique's was something he had been planning on for a while. With the wind slowly picking up around them, he was hoping his brother would use his talents to take this fight into the next level. The spars they had when they were younger were filled with excitement and this one was getting not only to that point, he felt as if it was going to surpass it go beyond.

Mayuri was now in the position he would like to be in, which was directly in front of his attacker at close proximity. His attack wasn't going to go through as intended, which was a negative but it had given him the chance to be as close as possible to Reishin. What would follow next could not be stopped and he would have to roll with it as it came, however being this close is where he excelled and he hoped to show his brother that he too was making strides in the right direction seeking to perfect his craft.

The knife chop was deflected, he had hoped it wouldn't be, but with such an overly obvious attack there was no way it wouldn't be used against him. His brothers own counter came fast and precise, he was very good at countering Mayuri's attacks before they came to full fruition which was a tad of a kick to reality for the young one. He needed to be smarter right now, if he knew he couldn't win on just force and speed, he would have to use his brain twice as much. As his hand reeled backwards it was by itself for but a moment before Reishin latched his own left hand to Mayuri's.

"Think fast"

His body was elevated from the ground in an instant and moving fast, his mind went into over drive as he only had mere seconds to come up with a exit strategy. This would either work to his advantage or it would hurt a lot. As his body was in the motion of being thrown Mayuri attempted to latch his right arm under his brothers throwing arm for leverage while his left stayed atop. He would have to wait till the last possible moment in his brothers momentum for this to even have a chance at working. At the let go point of the throw Mayuri would curl his weight inwards on the arm theoretically using the motion his brother was going to use against him again. This would either result in the throw being reversed into Mayuri throwing his brother while rolling to the ground or him falling still with his brother landing atop of him. All he knew was that he had to try something, and not waste this chance.

"Chance of success..unknown"

PostSubject: Re: A Brothers bond (Reishin/Mayuri)   Tue Aug 19, 2014 3:05 pm

Reishin was getting pumped into the fight the more the two brothers garnished blows and looked into each other's eyes. The spar had been going well and his own brother had been gaining a more even level although he still had a long way to go, which eventually he looked forward to fighting his brother on a more even level. After being countered and tossed by his own brother, Reishin would jump backwards and addtional three meters and slide back into his fighting stance with a smile on his face," Well Mayuri, it seems that your training is paying off well, and i am proud to even have this spar with you. But now it seems i will have to show you the slight difference in our meanings," the smile brimmed as his hand or right hand to be specific slowly cocked back to his chest and for a moment the wind around him could be seen condensing and channeling itself around him.

The chakra that Reishin had been channeling was by far the most he had ever used in a spar with another Hyuuga but he was showing this jutsu to his brother in hopes that he would learn from it and someday learn it himself. The combination of the wind and his chakra created a spear of three meters into his hands, slowly forming into a form of a phantasmal weapon that one could tell that he was concentrating on the jutsu alone. Beads of sweat began to drip from his face as his breathe became labored and distant, the jutsu passed down to him and kept within his branch caused a great strain on him while trying to get the power to do so but for this single demonstration he would make this happen for his brother.

The spear began to form fully as he spun it and look to his brother," Behold!!! This is the ultimate technique of the Trigram of Heaven and our ancestors, learn this jutsu well and you shall be truly immovable," with the strain he would throw the spear, not at his brother no....he threw it directly at an empty shack ten meters behind him. The spear began to create a loud and thunderous wail as it shrieked through the air before hitting the barn and spinning. The spinning was only the beginning as it continued to spin before exploding and causing a small 5 meter area of concussive wind that shot splinters of wood in the area but not directly affecting them. After the display of power Reishin dropped to his knees and panted hard from the simple display of the technique," Whew...I have only trained that jutsu once...and even now it still has a impact on me like that. So what now little brother, do you still want to continue our spar or call it quits here? I'd prefer it if we stopped unless you want to beat your big brother with a handicap," the weak chuckle would escape his lips as he sat flat on the ground and looked towards the sky, the golden hues closely for a moment before returning to the same beautiful nighttime sky.

His brother had been teaching him a lot about himself, the fact that he would need to be stronger in order to protect not only him but the clan as well. These few times he has spent with his younger sibling had been something he wouldn't replace anything in the world with and wanted to keep it this way. Lifting his right arm he would motion his brother to move closer to him so that he could speak with him a little more before leaving. If his brother came over to him he would grab him and pull him down with a smile and look to the stars," One day little bro this will be yours to monitor and lead with a strong heart and a strong body. I know that when your time comes you will lead this clan into an era that I could never accomplish...if I am still here for this I would want nothing more than to follow behind you and guide you as the heavens that watch over your back. Just like our father before us and our grandfather our place will be among these stars looking down on our future, so give it your all," the small act of encouragement would be a little lesson for his brother as he yawned. Rolling over he would stand up and walk off into the distance," when you are ready come back to the compound so that we can take care of our business amongst the clan...and to clean ourselves up," putting his hood over his head he continued to walk before disappearing into the woods.
